A vitrified clay body sealed beneath a fused vitreous glaze, this ceramic marries the timeless craft of fired earthenware, an art practised in China for over two millennia, with the exacting tolerances of modern porcelain stoneware. High-temperature kiln firing yields a dense, near-impervious surface boasting compressive strengths approaching 400 MPa, delivering exceptional hardness, abrasion resistance and frost durability.
