Limited Warranty Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Effective date: August 2026 · This policy applies to all products purchased from Mansa Furniture on or after this date.

1. General Terms

1.1 Who is covered. This warranty extends to the original purchaser only, with valid proof of purchase (invoice or order confirmation). It is not transferable to subsequent owners.

1.2 When coverage begins. All warranty periods begin on the date of delivery to the customer.

1.3 Residential use. This warranty applies to products used in normal residential conditions. Use in commercial, hospitality, rental, or institutional settings voids this warranty unless commercial coverage has been agreed in writing at the time of purchase.

1.4 Care instructions. Warranty coverage is conditional on the product being used, cleaned, and maintained in accordance with the Mansa care instructions provided with the product. Damage resulting from failure to follow care instructions is not covered.

1.5 Remedies. If a covered defect is confirmed, Mansa will, at its sole discretion: (a) repair the product; (b) replace the affected component; (c) replace the product with the same or an equivalent model; or (d) issue store credit. Replacement of a component or product does not extend or restart the original warranty period.

1.6 What this warranty is not. This warranty covers manufacturing and material defects only. It is not an insurance policy, a maintenance contract, or a guarantee against wear, accidents, or damage caused by use, environment, or handling.

2. Mandatory Inspection at Delivery

The customer must inspect the product thoroughly at the time of delivery, before signing the delivery conformity.

Any superficial or cosmetic defect — including but not limited to scratches, dents, chips, cracks, finish marks, glaze imperfections, upholstery stains or tears, and glass, ceramic, stone, or gypsum breakage — must be reported at the time of delivery and noted on the delivery document.

Once the customer receives and accepts the product, no claims for superficial or cosmetic defects will be accepted. Cosmetic damage reported after delivery is presumed to have occurred in the customer's possession.

For self-transported or customer-arranged pickup, inspection must occur at handover; Mansa is not responsible for any damage occurring during transport arranged by the customer.

4. Material Standards: Defects vs. Inherent Characteristics vs. Normal Wear

For each material, this section defines (a) what constitutes a covered manufacturing defect, (b) inherent characteristics of the material that are not defects, and (c) normal effects of use that are not covered.

4.1 Solid Wood

Covered defects: structural failure of joints or glue lines under normal use; splitting or cracking that penetrates the full thickness of a component; warping exceeding 4 mm per linear meter that impairs function; finish delamination or peeling not caused by liquids, heat, or cleaning products.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): variation in grain, figure, and color between pieces and within a single piece; natural mineral marks, small knots, and pith flecks; gradual color change with light exposure; minor seasonal movement, including hairline surface checks and slight gaps at joints, caused by changes in humidity and temperature — this is the natural behavior of solid wood, particularly in tropical climates.

Normal wear (not covered): scratches, dents, pressure marks, and abrasion; water rings, heat marks, and finish damage from spills, solvents, or cleaning products; fading or darkening from direct sunlight.

4.2 Veneered Wood Surfaces

Covered defects: delamination, bubbling, or lifting of veneer from the substrate under normal indoor use; open glue seams present from manufacture.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): grain and color variation between veneer leaves; visible seams between leaves; color change with light exposure.

Normal wear (not covered): scratches, chips, and edge damage from impact or use; damage from moisture, heat, or liquids; swelling of the substrate from water exposure.

4.3 Metal (Powder-Coated Aluminum and Steel)

Covered defects: peeling, flaking, or blistering of the powder coating not caused by impact or abrasion; structural failure of welds or joints under normal use; corrosion developing beneath an intact coating in indoor use.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): slight variation in gloss, texture, or tone between components or production batches; visible weld areas on handcrafted pieces.

Normal wear (not covered): chips, scratches, and coating damage from impact, abrasion, or contact with hard objects, and any corrosion that begins at such damage; corrosion caused by outdoor exposure of indoor products, coastal salt air, pool chemicals, or standing water; scratching from dragging.

4.4 Glass

Covered defects: manufacturing flaws — internal bubbles, inclusions, or distortion — identified at delivery; failure of glass-to-frame bonding.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): slight tint or color cast inherent to glass type; minor surface undulation in cast or artisanal glass.

Normal wear / not covered: any breakage, chipping, or cracking after delivery acceptance, regardless of cause. Glass is fragile by nature; all glass must be inspected at delivery per Section 2. Scratches from use are not covered.

4.5 GRC / Fibrecement (Cement)

GRC is a handcrafted cement composite. Fine surface fissures are a natural and expected characteristic of this material and will develop as the material cures and responds to temperature and humidity. They do not affect structural integrity.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): - Line fissures (hairline fissures): surface fissures up to 0.5 mm in width, with no displacement between the two sides of the fissure, that do not penetrate the thickness of the piece and do not affect its stability or function. These are normal and are not covered. - Variation in tone, shading, and surface texture between pieces and within a piece; small surface pores and pinholes; efflorescence (white mineral bloom), which can be cleaned; gradual patina with age and weather.

Covered defects: - Structural fissures: fissures wider than 0.5 mm, or fissures of any width that show displacement, penetrate the full thickness of the piece, continue to grow, cause pieces to detach (spalling), or compromise the stability, load-bearing capacity, or — in planters — the containment of soil and water. - Breakage or collapse under normal use and loading.

Normal wear (not covered): chips and edge damage from impact; staining from soil, fertilizer, water, oils, or food; damage from freezing (where applicable), from dragging, or from overloading; cracking caused by roots or by dropping.

4.6 Ceramic

Covered defects: structural cracks penetrating the piece body present from manufacture; large-scale glaze failure (peeling or flaking in sheets); failure of a planter to hold soil due to a body defect.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): glaze crazing (fine networks of lines in the glaze surface); pinholes, iron spots, glaze pooling, and drips inherent to artisanal glazing; variation in color, tone, and glaze behavior between pieces; slight asymmetry in handmade pieces.

Normal wear (not covered): any chipping, cracking, or breakage from impact or handling after delivery acceptance; staining or scratching of unglazed surfaces.

4.7 Stone (Travertine, Marble)

Stone is a natural material. No two pieces are alike, and surface character is not a defect.

Covered defects: fabrication cracks present at delivery; failure of factory-installed anchors, joints, or reinforcement; separation of factory fills in travertine within the warranty period under normal use.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): natural pits, voids, and factory fills (characteristic of travertine); veining, fissure lines visible in the surface pattern, color and pattern variation; fossils and mineral deposits; differences between the delivered piece and photographed samples.

Normal wear (not covered): etching (dull marks) from acidic substances — citrus, wine, vinegar, cosmetics, cleaning products; staining from oils, liquids, or metals; scratches and edge chips from use or impact; damage from failure to reseal as indicated in care instructions.

4.8 Plastic

Covered defects: cracking or structural failure without impact under normal use; severe warping that impairs function under normal indoor conditions.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): slight color variation between production batches; visible mold or flow lines; minor surface texture variation.

Normal wear (not covered): scratches and abrasion; discoloration or brittleness from sunlight or outdoor exposure of indoor products; damage from heat sources or solvents.

4.9 Gypsum (Lighting)

Covered defects: structural cracks affecting the integrity of the piece or its mounting; failure of embedded mounting hardware.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): fine surface lines and minor texture variation inherent to cast gypsum; slight tone variation; visible hand-finishing marks.

Normal wear (not covered): chips, dents, or breakage from impact or handling after delivery acceptance; staining or discoloration from moisture, smoke, or contact; damage from cleaning with liquids.

4.10 Wool (Rugs)

Covered defects: unraveling of edges, binding, or fringe under normal use; separation or delamination of backing; tufts pulling out in clumps or continuous lines (construction failure); dye bleeding without exposure to moisture.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): shedding of loose fibers, which is normal for wool and diminishes over the first months of use; sprouting — individual tufts rising above the pile, which should be trimmed with scissors, never pulled; pile crushing and indentations from furniture; slight variation in size and shape (up to 3%) inherent to handmade rugs; color variation between dye lots and versus photographs; natural lanolin odor when new.

Normal wear (not covered): wear patterns in traffic areas; fading from sunlight; stains, spills, and pet damage; moth or insect damage; damage from improper cleaning, beating, or machine washing; curling from humidity if not addressed per care instructions.

4.11 Rope

Covered defects: unraveling or detachment at terminations and anchor points; breakage under normal seating loads.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): surface fuzzing with use; slight stretch and relaxation of tension over the first months; color and texture variation in natural fibers.

Normal wear (not covered): abrasion, fraying, or cuts from use, pets, or sharp objects; degradation from sun or moisture exposure; sagging from standing on seats or exceeding weight limits.

4.12 Silk (Lamp Shades)

Covered defects: seam failure or detachment of the silk from the frame under normal use; defects in the mounting hardware.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): slubs, subtle irregularities, and sheen variation natural to silk; slight color variation between pieces and versus photographs.

Normal wear (not covered): fading or yellowing from sunlight or bulb heat; water marks and stains; tears, snags, or punctures; damage from cleaning attempts; discoloration from smoke or environment.

4.13 Paper (Lamp Shades)

Covered defects: failure of seams or adhesives under normal use; detachment from the frame.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): texture and translucency variation; visible seams; subtle tone differences between pieces.

Normal wear (not covered): tears, punctures, dents, or creases after delivery acceptance; discoloration or scorching from exceeding the maximum bulb wattage; damage from moisture, humidity, or contact with liquids; fading from sunlight.

4.14 Upholstery (Fabrics and Leathers)

Covered defects: failure of seams, stitching, zippers, or fasteners under normal use; fabric flaws from manufacture (weaving faults, dye faults) identified at delivery; premature breakdown of the fabric structure under normal use within the warranty period.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): pilling of fabrics, which depends on use and friction, not manufacture, and can be managed with a fabric shaver; slight stretching and relaxation of covers with use; wrinkles and folds in intentionally loose or casual covers; in leather — natural markings such as scars, wrinkles, growth lines, insect bites, and tone variation, which are proof of genuine leather, as well as the patina that develops with use; color variation between dye lots and versus photographs.

Normal wear (not covered): fading or discoloration from sunlight or artificial light; stains, spills, dye transfer from clothing (e.g., denim), and body oils; pet damage, snags, cuts, and abrasion; damage from improper cleaning products or machine-washing non-washable covers.

4.15 Cushion Fills (Foam, Fibre, and Feather)

Each fill type behaves differently, and its normal behavior is not a defect.

Foam — Covered defects: permanent collapse or deformation of the foam core exceeding 20% of its original height within the warranty period, which does not recover when the cushion is left unloaded.

Foam — Inherent characteristics: softening and loss of firmness of up to 20% of original height — the normal break-in behavior of seating foam, most noticeable in the first months and in the most-used seat.

Fibre (polyester, Dacron) — Covered defects: clumping of the fibre that cannot be redistributed by plumping; fibre migrating through the cover fabric in quantity.

Fibre (polyester, Dacron) — Inherent characteristics: compaction and flattening with use, which is expected and is restored by regular plumping and rotation of cushions; a softer, more relaxed appearance than foam by design.

Feather and down — Covered defects: failure of the inner ticking or its seams causing continuous feather loss; permanent loss of loft that cannot be recovered by plumping.

Feather and down — Inherent characteristics: compaction of feather fills with use, which may exceed 20% of the original height — this is the natural behavior of feather and is corrected by regular plumping, not a defect; the occasional escape of an individual quill through the fabric; a naturally soft, informal, lived-in appearance; a slight natural odor when new, which dissipates.

Normal wear (not covered), all fill types: flattening resulting from failure to plump and rotate cushions as indicated in the care instructions; deformation from sitting repeatedly on cushion edges or armrest cushions; moisture damage to any fill.

4.16 Frames and Suspension (Sofas, Upholstered Seating, and Beds)

Structural frames may combine solid wood, structural plywood, and metal components; the use of these combined materials in internal, non-visible parts of the frame is standard construction and is not a defect. Exposed wood surfaces (bases, legs, arms in visible solid wood) are additionally governed by Section 4.1.

Covered defects: breakage, cracking, or splitting of frame members under normal use; failure of glued, doweled, or fastened joints, including joints that loosen structurally and cannot be corrected by tightening accessible fasteners; delamination of structural plywood; failure of legs or of their attachment points under normal use; broken or detached suspension components — zigzag springs, webbing, and their anchors — under normal use; breakage of bed slats or support rails under normal sleeping loads.

Inherent characteristics (not defects): occasional creaks or settling sounds, particularly in the first months or with changes in humidity, which can typically be resolved by tightening accessible fasteners; minor flexing of slats and suspension under load, which is how these systems are designed to work.

Normal wear / not covered: damage from standing, jumping, or playing on the product (including children jumping on sofas and beds); damage from sitting on arms or backrests; broken legs or joints caused by dragging the product or moving it while loaded; damage from exceeding stated weight capacities; damage from uneven floors without proper leveling; damage caused during customer transport or relocation.

6. How to Make a Claim

  1. Notify Mansa within 15 days of discovering the defect, and within the applicable warranty period, by writing to support@mansafurniture.com with: order number or invoice, product name, description of the issue, and clear photographs (and video where relevant) showing the defect and the full product.
  2. Mansa may request additional information or an inspection of the product in the customer's home or at Mansa's facilities. Refusal of inspection voids the claim.
  3. Mansa will evaluate the claim against this policy — including the fissure-width and defect definitions in Section 4 — and respond with a resolution within 15 business days of receiving complete information.
  4. If the claim is approved, the remedy will be provided per Section 1.5. Transport of the product for approved warranty service within Panama City is covered by Mansa; outside this area, transport costs are the customer's responsibility.
  5. If the product or an identical replacement is discontinued, Mansa may offer an equivalent product or store credit for the value paid. ---

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mansa's total liability under this warranty is limited to the purchase price paid for the product. Mansa is not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including loss of use, inconvenience, or damage to other property.
